What are we learning?

March 16th - March 20th
Math: This week in math students will be learning how to compare fractions and find equivalent fractions.
 
Science: We will continue to learn about Earth's Features.  We will be using maps to locate various types of land forms across the United States.
 
Spelling/Grammar/Writing: This week's spelling pattern includes the suffixes -les, -ness, and -ful.  Students will also be learning about subject-verb agreement.  Students will also be working on drafting and editing their fiction writing piece.  
March 9th - March 13th
Math: This week students will be learning how to multiply whole numbers and mixed numbers.  We will also be learning how to compare fractions with unlike denominators.
 
Science: We will begin Topic 4 on Earth's Features.  Students will be learning how to read and create physical maps.
 
Spelling/Grammar/Writing: This week's spelling words will focus on the prefixes un-, re-, and dis-.  Students will also continue to work on their writing piece, as well as continue to learn about different types of verb tenses.  
March 2nd - March 6th
Math: Students will continue to learn about division.  This week they will be dividing with 4-digit numbers.  They will also be working with word problems involving division.
 
Science: This week students will take the Topic Test for the Waves and Information Unit.  We will then introduce the next topic on Earth's Features!
 
Spelling/Grammar/Writing: This week's spelling words include the following spelling patterns: oi,oy,au,aw,a.  Students will also continue to learn about verb tenses.
